Font - When my mom got my sister a job, and my sister refused to work M My mom has gotten my sister at least two jobs. Once at her former career, where they had my sister answering phones and stuff. She was there for a few months, and was a terrible employee from what little I know as I don't have specifics. What I do know is she quit on her own before she could be fired. My mom once asked her bosses hypothetically if my sister could come back to work in the warehouse, and she got a very firm no

Font - Now just yesterday I found out something I didn't know for like 17 years. My mom in 2005 or so took on a seasonal job in a chocolate candy shop where they made fancy boxed chocolates and the like. She like a total boss completely restructured their systems for shipping and sales, because that's the kind of work she'd been doing for over a decade by that point.

Font - The demand for seasonal employees was also high. So they hired people for just a few months at a time. My mom took the job because she wanted a break from her career after getting burned out, but still went back to said career the following year since she couldn't find better employment.

Font - My sister however had no job, and was living off her at the time boyfriend. So our mom got her a job in the chocolate shop washing dishes. But here's the thing. Instead of doing dishes, my sister just stood in front of the sink crying for two hours. It got so bad that my mom had to literally be the one to fire my sister and send her out the door. Then she had to do those dishes herself. For the record, my sister was not forced into this. She needed a job desperately. But didn't want to do

Font - For years my sister told me she'd quit that job. And others told me she couldn't handle the demands of the job. But this is the first time I'm hearing that she literally didn't even attempt to do the job! I mean, really! She was about 20-21 at the time. She could have done it. Looking back, my mom regrets not offering me the job instead. She stuck her neck out for my sister, only for a scythe to come down. Explains why she never helped her get another job again.

Font - Glimmerofinsight. 2 days ago I have a stepdaughter that needs a job. My employer is hiring but I would never tell her. The reason is that she quits jobs after less than a week, claiming she is "too stressed out." Then she goes back to playing video games at her mom's house.

Font - Part of me wants to help her get on her feet, but given her past attitude and performance ( which hasn't changed much) I don't want to be associated with her at my job. Her laziness could affect my job, so..... no thank you.

Font - I understand. It was very nice of your mom to try to help your sister. Too bad your sister didn't take advantage of that opportunity. 133 Reply Share

Font - the_contrary 2 days ago Why would she cry for 2 hours at work? That doesn't seem normal...is she dealing with mental health issues?

Font - DaFoxtrot86 OP. 2 days ago My sister was diagnosed Bipolar as a teenager, but mentally blocked it out. And she's been in denial that she's Bipolar ever since. That said, at the time she just wasn't willing to get her hands dirty. She wasn't even willing to clean her own home then. It was a serious mess my mom and I had to come clean multiple times.

Font - Jimmy3671 1 day ago I see people who don't want to work all the time it pisses me off. I have worked in a table top game shops for the last 10 years. Every few months we get a new employee who comes in and thinks that they can just sit around and play games with their friends and get paid for it. One even got pissed at me when I asked him to serve customers his response was "Can't you do it I'm in the middle of a game" I was making food for 6 other people at that time. When I told him to

Font - cwu007 18 hr. ago I have a BIL like your sister. 46 lives with parents no job, not even trying. My husband and I hired him to be a nanny to our kids just to give some relief to his parents. I once found a pretty decent job with pretty good pay for him.

Font - The supervisor for that position and I cross paths every week at work. (I work retail the supervisor is one of our vendors) I spoke with the supervisor and the supervisor said he would definitely consider my BIL. BIL said he applied but supervisor never got his application. We have a unique last name. Never helping BIL again since he hurt my reputation on top of his.
